Lapsi (Sweet Broken Wheat Dessert)
Ingredients:
1 cup broken wheat (dalia)
3 tbsp ghee
¾ cup sugar or jaggery
2½ cups water
4–5 cardamom pods (powdered)
2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds/cashews)
1 tbsp raisins (optional)
Instructions:
Roast wheat: Heat ghee in a pan or pressure cooker. Add broken wheat and roast on medium heat until golden and aromatic.
Cook: Add water carefully and cook covered (or pressure cook for 2 whistles) until the wheat becomes soft.
Add sweetness: Add sugar or jaggery and mix well. Cook on low heat until it thickens.
Flavor: Add cardamom powder, nuts, and raisins. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes.
Serve: Serve warm, garnished with extra nuts.
