Jowar Bhakri (Jwar ki Roti)

3

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jowar (sorghum) flour

  • Warm water (as needed)

  • Salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make dough: In a bowl, mix jowar flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft dough.

  2. Shape bhakri: Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball with your hands or roll gently into a round roti using dry flour.

  3. Cook: Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium heat. Place the bhakri on it and cook until small bubbles appear.

  4. Flip and roast: Flip and cook the other side. Press lightly with a cloth or spatula until it puffs and gets light brown spots.

  5. Serve: Remove and serve hot with curry, chutney, or vegetables.
