Urad Dal Pakodi Kadhi

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup urad dal (split black gram), soaked for 4–5 hours

  • 1 green chili, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp ginger, grated

  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for deep frying

  • Curry leaves (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Grind dal: Drain the soaked urad dal and grind into a thick, smooth batter using little water.

  2. Mix spices: Transfer the batter to a bowl. Add green chili, ginger, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well and beat the batter for a few minutes to make it light.

  3. Heat oil: Heat oil in a deep pan on medium heat.

  4. Fry pakodis: Drop small portions of batter into hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Serve: Remove and drain on paper towels. Garnish with fried curry leaves if desired. Serve hot with chutney.
